If you are looking for a solution for those bulky, awkward items check out this helpful guide for storing unusual items in a storage unit!

Cars

You can store cars in storage units! Typically, units sized 10x30 and above work best for most mid-sized cars. We recommend cleaning your car, disconnecting the battery, changing the oil, covering the exhaust pipe, and purchasing a good car cover before storing your vehicle. If possible, it is a good idea to check on your car and drive it every 4-6 months.

Mattresses

Storing a mattress properly in a storage unit is important to keep them from getting moldy. We recommend cleaning the mattress before storing it and then wrapping the mattress in a thinner, breathable plastic. Wrapping a mattress too tightly can keep odors and moisture trapped inside. We also recommend laying the mattress flat and keeping everything off the mattress while storing.

Furniture

Refrigerators and Freezers

It is important to keep the door slightly open when storing a refrigerator or a freezer to prevent moisture from getting trapped inside. Thoroughly clean your fridge, unplug it, and allow it to fully defrost and come to room temperature before putting it into your storage unit. We recommend storing your fridge upright and covering it with a light blanket or sheet.

Drum Kits

Disassemble your drum set to store it properly in a storage unit. We recommend keeping all hardware from the set in small zip lock bags and labeling each bag. Keep the cymbals in a padded case, and store all drums in a box separate from the drumheads. We also recommend wrapping the legs in bubble wrap.
